What is Michael’s Quit Smoking Program?
My hypnosis to quit smoking program consists of three one hour sessions over a two to four week period. The program has two main criteria. The first being to obviously have you stop smoking, and the second being to prevent the re-occurrence of the habit at a point in the future.
It should be noted that the majority of smokers will stop smoking after the first session. This should be the aim. Some prefer to cut down over the course of the three sessions and this can work well too, however, in my experience clients are more likely to quit smoking successfully if they aim to stop after the first session and not gradually over the three. This allows us to purely use the second and third sessions to reinforce your resolve and benefits to remain a non smoker.
What happens in the first session?

In the first session we’ll discuss and look at some of the personal factors that contribute to your smoking habit. Many people smoke for different reasons and understanding the basis for one’s own habit is generally critical in being able to successfully un-train that habit. This understanding is used to tailor and design a specific hypnotherapy program to suit the individual’s motivation and lifestyle. The most successful reasons that clients give for quitting smoking is that of the benefits of being healthy that arise when it happens on a permanent basis. Unless these benefits aren’t the central reasons as to why you’re opting to quit, I probably won’t see you. I know what’s like to be a former smoker, life is much better on the other side. Life is much better smelling fresh and clean, breathing calmly, feeling reduced anxiety, not suffering from tension headaches, feeling energetic, more attractive and more powerful in your day to day life. Some clients have said to me in the past that the reason why they’re wanting to stop is because their partner is making them. This isn’t a good enough reason. You need to be the one making the decision, not your partner nor anyone else. It also needs to be more than simply saving money. Finding Alternatives – Unless we exchange the smoking addiction for some other healthier activity long term the rate of re-occurrence will normally be higher. How about completely changing your health in thirty days? Quitting smoking and making the commitment to take a brisk twenty minute walk every day as a method to reduce stress will help take you from one end of the health spectrum to the other, whilst also providing a useful and far more beneficial way of substituting the former habit.Why should I see Michael?

The reduce alcohol hypnosis program is designed for people that wish to regain control over alcohol. The program is not designed for alcoholics. It is designed for clients that have fallen into a learned pattern of drinking alcohol to excess.

First Session
In this first session we establish your goals with respect to the amount of alcohol you wish to continue to drink. Some of the questions we’ll consider include: Whether it is something you simply only wish to do on weekends, or whether you wish to cap it on weekdays to a one or two standard drinks. Whether you been forced to make this change by someone else or are you truly motivated by your own desire to moderate. What you have to look forward to by making this change. A brief discussion on hypnosis will be given and any questions about the process will be answered. In the second half of the session hypnosis will be conducted, hoping to streamline and help bring about the wanted habit change as discussed in the earlier part of the session.Second & Third Sessions
The second session should be a week from the first. In this session a discussion regarding the week’s outcome will occur. The second round of hypnosis will reinforce the changes made to date and help bring about any further desired changes. The third session should be one to two weeks from the second further reenforcing and supporting the change. Eating Plan
I am a proponent of the 5 2 diet which encourages eating as you would normally for 5 days. And on the two other days of the week (non-consecutive) you consume 500 calories (600 calories for men). Once the desired results are obtained ie. you’re at your desired weight, you simply fast one day a week to maintain. Mary, a 41 year old woman from Balwyn came to see me for weight issues. She felt compelled during her lunch break to opt for oily, fried food. She wanted to be more conscious of what she ate and to choose more easily and effortlessly a lower calorie, healthier option for lunch – e.g. to eat sushi, lean chicken sandwiches. In the first session we addressed this behaviour. Upon returning for the second appointment a week later she reported feeling an ease and a satisfaction in making a lunchtime healthy eating choice. In the subsequent sessions we reinforced this change as well as other related changes that helped her reduce her overall consumption of calories facilitating weight loss. We also worked on motivation concerning exercise, to remove the blocks holding her back from going for a 30 minute walk every day. Jillian, a 26 year old from Essendon came to see me for a chocolate habit. On many nights she would buy blocks of chocolate and would often eat a whole block after work in the evening. She wanted to stop this behaviour as she found it impacted not only her weight, but her overall mental and physical health in a dramatic way. We addressed this behaviour in the three sessions and worked on a healthier substitute. She reported weeks later that her desire to eat chocolate had dramatically reduced and that she wasn’t compelled to eat it any more. A pornography addiction is condition where a typical man has an inability to control the urge to view pornography. With the rise of the Internet in the past 10 years and the ease in which pornograhpy can be accessed, there has been an increased rise in the number of men who have sought treatment with me for the condition. The fact that the internet can be accessed from our beds hasn’t helped in the form of laptops and smartphones.
Symptoms of a Porn Addiction:
- The inability to control the urge to view porn.
- The inability to stop the purchase of porn.
- The deteriorating state of their relationship due to the consuming nature of the compulsive habit.
- Development of a social phobia or a restricted social state due the addiction.
- Excess spending of money on the addiction.
- Neglecting personal and professional responsibilities by “wasting time” on the addiction.
- Feeling emotionally and physically exhausted.
